Vincent N. McColm, M.D. is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. McColm is also Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
The majority of medications I prescribe are intended to be training wheels. With proper education, commitment & balance, a person can often ride on their own. Not everyone gets there, but nothing makes me happier in my practice than being able to stop a medication that was once essential and is now unnecessary.
I chose primary care because of the personal connections that develop over time with my patients, and the challenge of oftentimes being the first to address a medical concern. It gives me a tremendously wide and challenging range of experiences, and keeps me constantly learning. My youngest patients are only a few hours old, and my oldest patient is 101 years old, which provides me with quite a unique perspective on life & medicine.
I was raised in the Bay Area of California and transplanted to Texas in High School. My father is Vietnamese, and my mother is Caucasian. I attended Baylor University with a dual major in Biology & Philosophy, and attended UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. I am the Chief of Pediatrics Division at Las Colinas Medical Center.
I have an interest in philosophy and sit on the Ethics committee of Las Colinas Medical Center. I strongly believe in preventive care.
I enjoy spending time with my wife and children - it seems that we are constantly at one zoo, museum, festival, or another. When I have the time, I enjoy mountain biking on the many trails around North Texas and enjoy traveling to new places.
I live in North Arlington with my wife, daughter and son, as well as our golden retriever & our cat.
