About Me

As a family physician, I see patients of all ages (newborn through adult) and also have a special interest in preventative medicine, diabetes, skin procedures and joint injections. It’s important for a family physician to not just treat an illness but to take care of each individual patient and family. I was excited to join USMD because I know it will give me the opportunity to do exactly that.

I grew up in Byron, Illinois and did my undergraduate work at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. After college, I went to the University of Iowa College of Medicine and then completed my residency in Peoria, Illinois, at University of Illinois College of Medicine—Peoria. Following this, I joined the Swedish American Medical Group in Rockford, Illinois as a family physician.

I live in Celina with my husband, Chad, our twin boys, and our daughter. Chad is a stay-at-home dad and a professional speaker on the Constitution. If raising twins wasn’t hard enough, he also just finished writing his first book. When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me scrapbooking, crocheting, watching sports, or even running a 5K. My husband and I also love stock car racing so we are hoping to visit the Texas Motor Speedway before the end of the fall.

You might be wondering why we chose to move from Illinois to Texas. Well, we came to visit North Texas and quickly saw it was full of wonderful people and great opportunities. That was all it took for us to realize this is a community we wanted to be a part of! We’re looking forward to being Texans and experiencing everything the Lone Star State has to offer.
