I believe every office visit should be interactive, informative and educational for patients.
Monika Mathur, M.D., is Board Certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Dr. Mathur also accepts Medicare patients.
Growing up, I loved arts and sciences and I always knew I wanted to be a physician. My love of arts and sciences led me to pursue a Neuroscience degree with Honors from the University of Toronto; I did this while training as a professional dancer with the National Academy for the Performing Arts.
I chose to specialize in Family Medicine because I thrive on the diversity of treating all individuals in one family. Doing this allows me to look at a patient’s health in a comprehensive way, giving me a unique perspective on their individual health. I am a strong advocate for patient education and I believe that every office visit should be interactive, informative and educational.
I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. I completed my residency in Family Medicine at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Upon completing my residency, I served as a physician at a large, multi-specialty group in Massachusetts. I have also served as assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine.
I have a passion for cultivating electronic medical records (EMR); I feel that EMR serve physicians and patients and allow them to work together in achieving each patient’s personal health goals. I have experience with Quality and Performance Improvement and I am excited to join USMD as a Family Medicine physician and as the Medical Director of Performance Improvement. I am dedicated to ensuring that physicians provide the highest quality care and that they continue to provide excellence in their medical services.
I live in Fort Worth with my husband and children.
