Internal Medicine

The favorite part of my work is developing relationships with patients and their families—and providing the best care and support possible.

About Me

I wanted to be a physician from the time I was very young. My father was a physician, so I’m sure he inspired my early interest. I grew up in Grand Prairie, and earned my undergraduate degree at Southern Methodist University, then went on to graduate school at University of Texas Health Science Center at Dallas where I earned a master’s degree in microbiology. After working as a microbiologist, I earned my medical degree at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, part of the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, and completed both my internship and residency in internal medicine at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas.

I chose internal medicine because I enjoy the daily challenges it presents diagnosing and treating a wide variety of health conditions. You never know what you’ll see, so ascertaining the problem and correct diagnosis helps keeps you mentally astute. But I have to say that the favorite part of my work is developing relationships with my patients and their families—and providing the best care and support possible.

As a doctor of osteopathic medicine, I treat the mind, body, and spirit to help my patients achieve holistic health. I find caring for seniors and the whole spectrum of geriatric medicine very rewarding. Diabetes and gastrointestinal issues are two areas of particular interest to me. I am also especially passionate about palliative care and honored to help men and women facing end-of-life issues.

I live in Fort Worth with my husband. We have two daughters. When I’m not caring for patients, I enjoy gardening, yard work, and spending time in the mountains of Colorado.
