I enjoy partnering with parents in monitoring and improving the health of children.
Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics
My mother is a practicing nurse and so was my late grandmother, so I have been around the healthcare field my entire life. In fact, I recall deciding to become a doctor as an 8th grader.
It was not until after college, while working as a community nutritionist that I decided to pursue pediatrics. I enjoyed the fact that parents trusted me to offer them sound, reasonable and practical advice when it came to caring for their children.
I am proud to say that I am a Texan. My parents are from rural East Texas. My father was in the Air Force, so we traveled. But on my 10th birthday, we moved to Abilene, Texas where my Dad was stationed at Dyess Air Force Base. I was fortunate to finish middle school and high school in Abilene, TX.
I have a nutritional science degree from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. I received my medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX and completed my pediatric residency training at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH. I had the opportunity to spend a year participating in community based research on pediatric asthma at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
I enjoy traveling and participating in volunteer activities. I love it when I get to combine the two interests by going on mission trips. My husband and I enjoy spending time with friends and family as well as exploring new restaurants. We live in southwest Fort Worth.
