About Me

The decision to study medicine was influenced by my formative years in South Africa. I chose to specialize in internal medicine because it provides a diverse spectrum of diseases. My goal as a physician is to clearly explain problems and diagnose and treat diseases with the intent to provide excellent, cost-effective and compassionate care to each individual patient.

I completed medical school at University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa and my residency in internal medicine at Boston University. My philosophy to attain advanced medical knowledge and opportunities for research allowed me to partake in a fellowship in general internal medicine at Boston University. During this fellowship, I conducted research projects with a focus on health services. Thereafter for the next 14 years, I stayed in academic medicine, teaching the next generation of doctors at Emory University and at UT Southwestern Medical Center. I have been in private practice since 2013 in Arlington, Texas.

I reside in Mansfield with my husband and daughter. We enjoy outdoor sports, fairs, museums and traveling.
