As much as we've learned about medicine in the last 100 years, I remain in awe about the mysteries we have yet to decipher and the body and mind's amazing workings. As a physician, I'm here as a guide to help people achieve the best health they can.
As a young child, I remember my parents and my grandmother telling me over and over again that I was going to become a physician. Given my personality and academic performance, they could not imagine me doing anything else. Fortunately, I couldn't either and it became a self-fulfilling prophecy. I knew I wanted to care for the entire individual as well as families and that's why I chose Family Medicine as a speciality. I love the full spectrum of Family Medicine, but my passion is kids.
I was born in Nigeria and raised in the Ivory Coast. I attended college in Oberlin Ohio and then went on to medical school at Harvard. After 12 years in the Midwest/Northeast, my husband and I moved to Texas to escape the cold weather.
In college, I did some bench research which led to the publication of the following article on the properties of a molecule in the Journal of Physical Chemistry: Synthesis and Vibrational Spectroscopy of 1,1,2,2-Tetrafluoroethane and Its 13C2 and d2 Isotopomers.
I love to cook and eat good food and entertain. Not only is it a great excuse to gather up friends and family for quality fun time, but it also encourages healthier nutrition than frequent take out or dining out allows.
I live in Keller with my husband and our two sons.
