About Me

I entered the field of medicine when I was 20 years old as a Dallas Fire Department paramedic. I thoroughly enjoyed being a paramedic but, after 13 years, I resigned because I wanted to go back to school to become a physician. I initially thought I wanted to pursue a career in emergency medicine, but emergency medicine didn’t offer the continuity of care with patients that I wanted so I decided to specialize in Family Medicine.

I attended the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, receiving a Doctor of Osteopathy degree. After receiving my doctorate degree, I completed my family medicine residency at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. After my residency, I started a solo practice clinic in my hometown of Midlothian. I have enjoyed being a small-town, family physician and look forward to continuing to do so as part of USMD.

I have lived in Midlothian since 1983. In my free time I enjoy fishing, woodworking, oil painting, traveling to the mountains, and spending time with my wife and our five children and 12 grandchildren.
