As the son of a father who was a beloved OB/GYN in the community he served, witnessing the outright love he had for his profession was contagious. In fact, my sister is an OB/GYN as well. I found I had the same enthusiasm for OB/GYN in medical school. Since then I strive to continue his legacy of providing quality, state-of-the-art care to the patients I serve with the same dedication and compassion he demonstrated throughout his career. I feel very blessed and fulfilled to have chosen OB/GYN.
I was born in New Haven, Connecticut, the first Asis born in the United States while my father was a resident in OB/GYN. My parents came from Argentina with my sister. Raised in Connecticut, I went to Brown University for College and The University of Rochester for Medical School. There I met my wife and we returned to Connecticut for residency training at Yale and to start a family. After residency I joined my father’s and sister’s practice which was another residency in itself! My father unexpectedly passed away from stomach cancer in 2002 after which I continued to run and subsequently grow a successful practice. Though this was very fulfilling professionally, my children were growing without me and I rarely shared quality time with my wife. My wife and I decided it was time for a change. We researched the country and decided on Texas. I was recruited by MCNT to meet the needs of the Denton Community. After meeting my partners and seeing Denton first hand, I called my wife and said, “I found it!” I now have lived in Denton since August, 2010 and my hunch was right. Denton is a wonderful family college town. It offers many venues for the varied interests of my growing family. Our children are 15, 13, 12, and 9 years old. They attend Denton ISD schools and are involved in athletics, dance and music.
I feel very fortunate to be associated with MCNT. The state of the art infrastructure, staff support and electronic medical records has freed me as a physician to do what I love most, providing care for my patients and spending time with my family. My third love is teaching. I am a proctor for Intuitive Surgical, teaching other physicians robotic surgical techniques for gynecologic procedures and I am on the Research Advisory Board for Covidien to assess future advances in laparoscopy. As a clinical professor at Yale, I taught residents through out my career. I know that teaching will be a part of my professional passions in Denton, as well.
As an obstetrician gynecologist, I take pride in providing both comprehensive care to pregnant mothers and gynecologic patients. I have an expertise in minimally invasive robotic surgery and pelvic floor surgery. As a robotic surgeon, I help women conceive, treat their pain and improve their quality life with a quick recovery. As a pelvic surgeon, my patient’s lives are improved by treating their pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence. It would be my privilege to be your doctor as well.
