Position: X-Ray Technician Classification: Full Time/ Hourly

JOB SUMMARY: Performs radiologic procedures as scheduled by physicians.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Take pictures and develop film.
2. Order x-ray supplies.
3. File x-ray reports and jackets daily.
4. Take x-ray reports to providers daily.
5. Pull out-going x-rays and reports for patients as needed.
6. Pre-make file jackets.
7. Keep department stocked with supplies.
8. Maintains patient confidentiality.
9. Performs related work as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diplomas or equivalent and at least one year of x-ray technologist experience.
2. Current certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
3. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to perform x-ray testing.
4. Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology including equipment, body mechanics, and patient movement.
5. Skill in properly positioning patients.
6. Skill in identifying equipment problems.
7. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
8. Ability to apply written guidelines and standardized work practices.
9. Ability to communicate clearly.
INTERACTIONS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
All levels of employees at the site and heavy patient contact. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances and other conditions common to a clinical environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Involves standing and walking. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 100 pounds. Requires normal visual acuity and hearing. Requires exposure to bodily fluids.
