JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Position:  EMR/EPM Implementation and Training Specialist        Classification:  Full Time/Salaried  

                                               

Reports To:  EMR/EPM Implementation Manager                      Location:  Administrative Business Office                      

                                                                                                                                                                                   

 

JOB SUMMARY:   Responsibilities include but are not limited to training and consulting on the planning and installation of EMR/EPM implementation projects for clients installing practice management software and electronic medical records applications.  Is a member of the implementation and training consulting team staff on deployed projects working directly with project manager. Works independently and as a member of a team working on schedules and process for training of practice management and electronic medical records software programs and office staff in physician practices primarily in Texas and the western United States

 

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Work directly with software vendor and client on the planning of installations and training for medical offices
  2. Provide support and analysis of problem areas of usage of installed EMR & EPM systems
  3. Function as training team member for each implementation and client project
  4. Under supervision of project manager, provide training, support and implementation services to practice staff
  5. Teach group classes and provide one on one support to trainees learning EPM and EMR systems
  6. Provide training on report writing and software applications
  7. Provide analyses of project work flow and make recommendations and changes in conjunction with Project Lead
  8. Manage to the implementation timelines of installations and support programs
  9. Providing training and trouble shooting on implementation projects
  10. Extensive local and national travel.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.        Previous experience working with practice management and EMR systems

2.        Previous experience working as a consultant on project teams

3.        Medical software/billing/electronic medical records and/or clinical applications background

4.        Working knowledge of MS XP Professional Office Suite

5.        Experience working in the medical field in a multi/single specialty practice

6.        Direct experience working with physicians

7.        Report writing experience

8.        Excellent oral and written communication skills

9.        Ability to balance multiple priorities

10.     Attention to detail

11.     Strong time management skills

12.     Strong interpersonal skills are critical

13.     Ability to travel extensively both to local and national destinations

14.     NextGen information systems knowledge preferred

 

EDUCATION:

Bachelor of Science Preferred in Information Services; Clinical Services; Nursing; or Business.

Experience in lieu of education acceptable.
