JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Position: Clinical Services Coordinator                                  Classification: Full Time/Salary

                                                                                   

Reports To: Director of Nursing and Clinical Services          Location:  Administrative Business Office

 

                                                                                                                                                           

 

JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of The Director of Nursing and Clinical Services, the Clinical Coordinator is responsible, for providing on-site  training and clinical oversight for all nursing and Medical Assistant staff, developing, recommending and implementing clinical policies, coordinating educational opportunities and support the Team Leaders and Site managers in the interpretation of clinical policies as they relate to clinic objectives and clinical procedures. Ensure compliance with MCNT policies and procedures, especially as they relate to Government rules and regulations.

                                       

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Including but not limited to the following:

 

  1. Assist with the selection of new clinical staff and develop a plan for on-site orientation and integration for all clinical employees
  2. Provide clinical supervision to nursing and Medical Assistant staff
  3. Evaluate skills of new and current employees in the areas of EMR,  triage, and coding and develop work plan to improve same.
  4. Stay abreast  of changes in medical field and the EMR system which may require changes in training or equipment
  5. Evaluate staffing patterns and make recommendations to improve staff utilization
  6. Develop process for auditing drug inventory supplies, crash cart and other measurable tasks in the clinic.
  7. Support the Site Managers in the purchase of drugs, supplies and other  equipment for clinical use
  8. Provide input to Director of Nursing into the development of clinical procedure manual
  9. Using the “go-to-meeting” tools, coordinate and provide in-service education to the clinical staff.
  10. Meet monthly with Team Leaders to provide leadership, support and training
  11. Attend monthly Site Manager meetings to facilitate open communication
  12. Develop and conduct programs to improve patient relations
  13. Provide input and signature for Performance Appraisals for clinical staff. Evaluate current performance appraisal tool and modify as necessary to achieve desired results.
  14. Evaluate practices that are efficient and effective and develop plan to introduce to other clinics
  15. Coordinate and provide CPR training as necessary
  16. Support the Site Manager in the development of an emergency preparedness plan

 

 

 

Minimum QUALIFICATIONS:

Licensed as an LVN with more than five years experience, at least two years working in a primary care clinic and two years as a manager. Experience working with an Electronic Medical Record System, Certification as a CPR instructor is a plus.

INTERACTIONS/ WORKING CONDITIONS:

Maintain excellent personnel relations with the Site Managers, physicians, employees, all levels of  management, and the general public, .Normal office environment.  Travel between clinic sites.
