| The MCNT Diabetes Self-Management Program, "Great Outcomes" was
developed to help you understand how diabetes can affect your
health. Our physicians want you to learn how to manage the
disease more effectively to reduce your risk of complications.
Currently, there are more than 18.2 million Americans with
diabetes. This disease kills more people than AIDS and
breast cancer combined and is the leading 5th leading cause of
death by disease in the United States.
"With diabetes, heart attacks occur earlier in life and often
result in death," according to the American Diabetes Association
(ADA).
MCNT's Diabetes Education Program is recognized by the ADA and
is structured to help you learn how to manage your diabetes,
reduce your risk of health complications, and enjoy life to the
fullest. The program consists of a 1-hour individual
assessment and nine hours of classroom training taught by
Certified Diabetes Educators, Registered Dietitians, and
Registered Nurses.
